As part of Hooky for HOWL, join us June 4, 2015 for a Guen-honoring hike at HOWL, celebrating the beauty of HOWL and June in Vermont! Enjoy a guided moderate hike, food, and good company. Donations gratefully encouraged (but not required). Here are a few details:
10:00 Arrival at HOWL (895 Salvas Road, Huntington, VT: the end of the road!)
10:15 (Prompt!) Depart for a two hour ramble/hike through meadows & (likely wet) trails. Bring bug stuff, waterproof boots (and a change of shoes & socks for when we return), snacks, and water. There will be a fair amount of uphill, but all at a moderate grade. We’ll depart together, but feel free to do only part of the walk (we’ll stay on trails the whole time).
12:00 Lunch! We’ll provide a big pot of (meat) chili & corn bread, seltzer, and perhaps a dessert.
Questions? Contact Anya Schwartz at (802) 453-7622 or email howlvt@gmail.com.
The forecast for June 4 is lovely! From Eye on the Sky:
Mostly sunny and warmer. Highs mainly in the mid to upper 70s, some lower 70s northeast. Light winds, becoming south 5 to 10 mph.
After the heavy rain, I drove up yesterday. My small, non 4WD vehicle did fine. The road isn’t in great shape at the end, but it was definitely doable.
